Take a listen to this track by the legendary Alexander O’Neal. Called “What’s Missing” it’s from his 1985 S/T debut album on Tabu records. This one is chock full of fonk.

A couple weeks ago Jim, Nate and myself did a guest appearance on WNYU’s “A Downtown Affair.” Everyone showcased their stuff and it was a great night all in all. We hope to be back to soon. If you find yourself needing some positive sounds to listen to. Check out the link for all musical boogie and goodness.
DJ Baseball Nate going in here on “Let’s Get Serious” radio show.
DJ Sweetmeat playing some Surface “Feels So Good” circa 1986 on WNYU radio 2/3/12.
On Friday February 3rd getBKfunk will hit the airwaves of NYC. From 10:30 pm to 1 am we will be guesting the 3 year running Let’s Get Serious radio show on 89.1 WNYU or you can find the archive at letsgetserious.net.

Just picked up this LP of Kevin Toney’s out in Portland, OR. Very jazz/funk but a couple bangers. This one takes the cake tho….called “Red Tape”. Beauty.
